Universal Security Systems, Inc is a New York State registered “S” corporation, privately held with two principals.

Network Security
Universal maintains a high level of network security.  Our Corporate LAN is protected by a Cisco PIX firewall and remote access is provided only through a 128 bit encrypted Cisco VPN system.  Our Cisco wireless network is protected with 128 bit WEP encryption and uses MAC hardware access control.   All remote email devices use encrypted transmission and auto locking. These devices can also be remotely ‘killed’, which performs a low level format on the memory if lost of stolen.  All servers and workstations are patched within 48 hours of a Microsoft security bulletin.  All systems are secured with Microsoft Domain and Active Directory controls.  Workstations are configured to auto blank and lock when not in use.  Users are required to change passwords on a regular basis.

Document Security
Universal has a large GSA Class V storage safe with dual locking devices for storage of documents requiring this level of security.  This safe can hold large format drawings as well.  Universal uses cross cut shredders to destroy all documents marked confidential, sensitive, etc.  Universal can provide encrypted email as well as digital document signatures for electronic documents which require additional security but may be transmitted via electronic means.
